Full Professor of Economic Sociology, he directs the Welfare Comparative Social Policy course at the Department of Economic and Social Sciences “Giorgio Fua” at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, (Ancona, Italy). From 1989 to 1991 he was Member of the Board of Directors of National INPS, from 2002 to 2008 he served as Regional Minister of Marche Region with responsibility for the organization, personnel, information technology, education and training, and work. Furthermore, in 2009 he was Coordinator of the working group responsible for drafting and 2nd Umbria Region Social Plan.

Research interests: Welfare and Compared Social Policies, the Transformations of the Public Welfare and Italian Welfare Privatization, Private Welfare.
