Associate Professor of Social Sciences and Statistics at the University of Southampton. After obtaining a Masters degree in political science, psychology and law, she worked from 2001 to 2003 as a consultant at the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence. In 2005 she joined the University of Southampton – where she currently teaches as Associate Professor in Social Statistics – achieving at the same time a PhD in Economics from the University of Hamburg. She’s currently on leave for research purposes at the Centre for Research on Impact Evaluation in the Unit of Econometrics and Applied Statistics of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra, Italy.
Research interests: social inequality (particularly in education, labor market and income), policy evaluation methods and surveys design.
