Economist, expert in political economy, income and inequality distribution and economic development. He was previously Senior Vice President for Development Economics and from 2003 to 2007 he was chief economist at the World Bank. He was later appointed director of the new Paris School of Economics, holding the office until 2013. In addition to teaching Economics and supervision of PhD students, he is currently involved in several research projects. He is also active in international development communities, as a speaker and consultant in the major international agencies and foreign governments.
