In today’s historical period, in which a strong crisis has called into question the society we live in, it’s increasingly necessary to exchange views on what’s important, in order to ensure a sustainable and fair development that aims to human well-being and not only to economic growth. The three-day festival that rises from this ideas – the Social Cohesion Days – promotes the debate among politicians, researchers, organizations and the civil society, and a shared speculation on the policies, guidelines and needs of contemporary society. This year we’ve dedicated, with a hint of irony, this three-day of debates, lectures and performances to the “Politics of Happiness”, in order to remind us that the welfare of a society must be built with a long-term outlook, paying attention to all social groups, and that a happy society is, in the first instance, a cohesive society.
