In 2011, when he was a music student at the High Musical Institute in Damascus, he fled from Syria to Lebanon, carrying only his violin and some personal belongings. In 2015 he was offered a scholarship to study in Italy by the communication research center Fabrica. Since then, he performs live and he has recently recorded his first album, Sham. In the same year he met the actor Alessandro Gassman, Ambassador of the United Nations High Commissariat for Refugees (UNHCR), while the latter was working on a documentary on Syrian refugee artists. From their meeting it was born Torn, a documentary funded by UNHCR and presented at the Venice Film Festival.
